A 5th-Gen Camaro Played Dress Up with ’50s Chevy Clothes

Resto-mods always feel a bit strange, simply because they often have a flair we’re not used to, but this is an entirely new level. The N2A Motors Camaro 789 SS Convertible was transformed from a basic fifth-generation Camaro SS into a wild streamlined throwback to one of the most charismatic eras for Chevrolet: the ’50s.

The 789 name is a direct tie back to the years 1957, 1958, 1959, and if you know anything about those years, you’ll recognize the face as the old Chevy Sport Coupes, sedans, and the Bel Airs. But the rear of the coach built sports car shows off the famous cat eyes and wings that we saw on the likes of some of the earlier Impalas and El Caminos in ’59.

One of the weirdest parts of this entire package is how out of place the soft-top convertible looks with the retro styling. In my opinion, it just kind disconnects the greenhouse with the rest of the vehicle, but it’s certainly a sleek-looking, low-slung exterior. The engine and interior are pretty much just as they are in the regular 2010-2015 Camaros.

What do you guys think, Y or N?
