Chevy Cruze Recognized for “Stellar” Reliability by Consumer Reports

Chevy Cruze 2016

The guys at GM have a lot to happy about this week thanks in large part to Consumer Reports recognizing the Cruze as the most reliable small car of 2016.

In past years, Chevy’s small cars have missed the top three all together, however, the Cruze was redesigned for 2016. It features hardware that you’d normally expect on more expensive cars, like start-stop technololgy, as well as software like Apple CarPlay.

That software component has thrown a wrench into the quality of some of it’s competitors. Honda’s Civic, a Cruze competitor, suffered this year due to issues with their infotainment systems and power equipment. Tesla too has fallen fast due to many complaints relating to the in-car control system and multiple mechanical issues with the Model X.

Other Chevys like the Corvette, Camaro, and Cadillac XTS have earned their recommendation as well, all of which having been on the market for a number of years now.

Buick is also in the top 3, along side Toyota and Lexus. According to CR, “its core product line is mature, with most problems having been ironed out.”

The Cruze will be getting an updated hatchback model in the next year in addition to a diesel option as well. Hopefully, they’ll be just as sturdy.
