2017 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE Package Enhances More Than Ever

2017 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE SS

With the 2016 Chicago Auto Show nearly upon us, Chevrolet is letting us in on what to expect at the show. For the Camaro loves out there, that includes an updated 1LE performance package for the V8. But, in addition to having it available on the V8 SS version, Chevrolet is now offering it on the V6 as well! That means even if you don’t want the big V8 (though I’m not sure why), you can still get the extra handling features.

The V6 is the big news of the two option packages, and is available on either 1LT or 2LT Camaros. The package adds more aggressive suspension tuning, Brembo brakes, and Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. GM is claiming that the 1LE V6 will deliver 0.97G of cornering grip.

2017 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE performance package will be available on 1LT or 2LT coupes equipped with the 3.6L V6

The SS version is only available on the 1SS package, and adds magnetic suspension, new FE4 suspension tuning, an electronic limited slip differential, and the Goodyear Eagle F1s. Recaro seats are standard, as is the Performance Data Recorder, available for the first time on Camaro.

The 1LE SS Camaro lapped Big Willow at Willow Springs Raceway an entire 3 seconds a lap faster than the standard Camaro SS. That’s some considerable improvement on an already good car.

Visual changes include a black satin hood, special wheels, and more.

Be sure to check out the new car at the Chicago Auto Show, and stay tuned for more information on this beast.
