Bet you’ve never seen a Cadillac do anything like this before!

If you’ve been to a Monster Jam event recently, you already know that monster trucks have come a long way over the last decade or so. These giant trucks with their giant motors and giant tires aren’t just crushing cars like the old days. The sport has evolved to the point where drivers are doing things that just shouldn’t be possible — like backflips.

But after a while, once everybody can do a particular stunt, it just gets boring. So drivers are constantly trying to up the ante, performing stunts that no one has ever done. And this week we saw another barrier broken with a move we didn’t even think was possible. Lee O’Donnell, driving the “Mad Scientist” Cadillac Escalade, did a freaking front flip. Seriously.

It all went down during the freestyle competition at the Monster Jam World Finals in Las Vegas this week. After some typical showboating and a couple of near flips, O’Donnell put an exclamation point on his freestyle performance with the insane move. Going full throttle while holding a wheelie, he nails the move so perfectly it almost doesn’t look real.

It’s a performance that would make even a professional ice skater jealous. And now that we’ve broken yet another barrier in the world of monster trucks, what could possibly be next? Perhaps a Lutz jump, Besti squat, or Biellmann spin? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
