Vinyl Wrap Transforms Camaro Into Weather-Worn 1977 Bumblebee

Believe it or not, it’s almost been 10 years since the original Michael Bay, Shia LaBeouf, and Megan Fox Transformers movie debuted. It was in that film that the Chevrolet Camaro made its triumphant return with the new 5th-gen concept, and Bumblebee found a place in everybody’s hearts. Since then, most of the original actors have left, Mark Wahlberg and his massive arms have been added, there are now dinosaur autobots, and an entirely new Camaro is set to debut in Transformers 5: The Last Knight. But let’s not forget, it all began with a busted up 1977 Camaro.

When that old ’77 appeared on screen, it was sitting in an old car dealership waiting for some love. Mr. Ron Witwicky thought the roughed up muscle car was the right fit for his son Sam Witwicky … for the right price of $4,000. It only played a small part before it exited for the ground-breaking new model, but it’s forever a classic and is now a huge part of movie and toy history. So it’s understandable that some people are still honoring that car.

The most recent example of that actually fuses the old and new together. Skepple designed a look-alike wrap for a facelifted 5th-gen Camaro to look like the slightly rusted 1977, complete with racing stripes. After the print was set up, The Vinyl Loft installed it onto the car, and though it’s not exactly the same, it looks pretty good.

Maybe the owner should go pick up hitch-hiking LaBeouf and take this whole thing full-circle.
