Default Increase remote start run time?

Just curious if anyone can answer with certainty, can the dealer program my remote start to run longer? My 2016 Silverado runs about 10 minutes, all previous vehicles were in the 15-20 minute range.

Is there some reason to operate it longer? If you are not planning to use the truck, why start it?

I am in New England, cold, snow, ice. Both my Dodge and Ford would run about 15-20 minutes on remote start, head out in morning with windshield melted and truck is toasty. 10 minutes with the Chevy hardly makes a dent.

In the owner's manual for my '17, it says to press and hold the start button within 10 seconds of starting the truck to extend another 10 minutes. I forget if it flashes the lights or not, but I'd imagine it does.

Thanks for encouraging me to look at my owners manual(almost had it a year now). I have factory remote start on my 16 Silverado. First time having it. I have opened my truck door several times to have it shut off cause it timed out. I always think of how stupid I must look. But being in ny that extra 10 minutes would be great cause the initial ten doesn't even get it warm on the frigid days. Thanks!
