Im in the process of transplanting a vortech 454 from a 2000 one ton into my 86 one ton with a four speed. So far so good. im having some clearance problems with headder clearance. id like to know if i have to change fuel tanks out. I think im going to anyways, it will make the fuel pump problem a lot easier. any comments questions or suggestions i would love the input.

I have no real input on said problem, but I have another issue I was wondering about along the same lines. I have an 84 Suburban that I am considering building a new engine for. I would like something that is fuel injected (rather than carburated, and im thinking efi, not tbi) to help keep gas mileage and power at their optimums. I am considering a vortec 350 however I am concerned with the compatability of it. Is a Vortec 350 a viable option as a replacement to a non Vortec 350 motor? If so, what issues am I going to have to deal with when building/dropping this bad boy in an older Chev? Any input on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

for djiroc1: i you have the tank you might as well replace it.
for dragoth: you would need o swap in all the electronics that go with the injected motor as well as the computer that goes with it.

you can move anything.... just where exactly are you moving it to?
