I have a LTZ Tahoe that doesn't have the rear entertainment package. Me and My fiance wanna put one in. We didn't get it factory 'cause we wanted a larger screen! I'm sure someone has done this. Where is a good place to get a large screen and how do i go about getting it installed with out messing up my warranty?:)

http://www.vizualogic.com/quantum.html

http://www.directedvideo.com/allinone.asp <-- can get up to a 17" overhead monitor

also check ebay.

If you want in dash, pioneer, alpine, kenwood, etc all make nav units, however if its in dash, 7" is about as big as you'll be able to get without having a custom fabrication done.

And none of these products should effect your warranty

Awesome Thanks alot. Also on the headliner right behind the front seats where the entertainment systems usually goes is a dome light that comes down. Do i put the entertainment sytem behind it or what do you recommend! Is there any pics that i could look at to get and idea?

That I don't know. I only have a 3LT and just put a nav unit in the dash, then I bought monitors to put in the headrests, just haven't completed that yet. If the dome light is there I'm not really sure what the solution would be. Go ask a local car audio dealer and see what they say and go on from there.

IMO, I would put in the headrest monitors.

What stereo do you have?

Yeah We thought about putting them in the headrest. That's why we ordered it with out the screen to begin with. But then we didn't wanna buy 4 screens for the headrest. so in order to make everyone comfortable and able to see the screen including third row passengers we decided to do one large screen! I have NAV stereo.

Usually the back side of the monitor covers over the opening of the domelights. Do you have a sunroof?

I'm guessing it would have to cover that in some way. If it was at all behind it, I bet the 2nd row passengers would have a hard time seeing the screen.

Can't you remove the light and use the power for the system? Probably have to cut the headliner down to fit it.

It almost looks like you'd have to cut out the hump in the headliner.....

Someof the aftermarket screens have dome lites built in. Where I see your problem is if the base of the unit is bigger than the hump that the current lite is.

Yeah that's kinda what i was thinking! I was really just hoping i didn't have to cut it!

If the screen your getting is big enough then you could cover that whole area that you would be cutting off. You wouldn't even be able to tell it was there.

your going to have to cut that camel humpout if your going to go in the roof. Domelights are pretty much standard now-a-days on the overheads. Also I believe that Audiovox (Advent)makes a custom fit overhead console that can be used to house a screen as well.
