I recently purchased a 2005 Chev Trailblazer Lt. So far I like the car allot, it has a nice ride and features. My only downfault is the repeating chime when my seatbelt or my passengers seatbelt is not on! Can this chime be silenced or shut off?

Wear your seatbelt!<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

new to forum, wife has 05 trailblazer 4x4,

I would like to shut off the chime also, I wear seatbelt when on the road, but when riding around the ranch I don't wear it and do not want to hear the chime

I believe that there is a way to turn it off or at least to turn the volume down on the chime. I remeber reading something in my owner manual for my 04 TB. Check out the manual and if you don't have it you can look at it online at www.mygmlink.com (GREAT site if you haven't signed up for it already).

I don't recall chimes in my 04 LS but then again, I don't wear a belt at all so the belt warning light burned out a long time ago from being on all the time.

Go to your locate Chevy Dealer and ask for seat belt extensions.
They will give them to you free.
Plug them in and the chime goes away forever!

My wife had a simple solution. She had the seatbelt fastened before she get seated so the chime will go forever

I am not so tall and the extension will make the belt go across my shoulder, not dig into my neck.
Just a little more info to consider.

the only way i know of getting rid of the chime is to replace the factory radio with an aftermarket radio. otherwise all you can do is alternate between two chime volumes that come through and are controlled by the radio.
