View Full Version : star ranking ehhget 02-11-2008, 03:30 PM what do the star rankings under your name mean? i noticed mine changed and I am wondering how that happened? EvansBlue 02-11-2008, 04:09 PM They change as your posts go up its like a ranking system, but we discourageany practicaluse of it because it doesn't matter how long you've been here or how many posts you've made, everyone istreated equally. 1 star new member0-15 posts 2 starsstarting member 16-30 posts 3 stars junior member31-45 posts 4 starssenior member45-60 posts 5 stars super member 61-x posts Moderators, administrators, and contributers will always have 5 stars. fireman526 02-11-2008, 07:37 PM How do you contribute?I was wondering how this is ran exactly. Websites arent free. Who pays for this one? Is it paid by advertisers? If you contribute, where exactly does your money go towards? Is this website ran by an individual or a group of individuals? How are moderators picked? What qualifications do you have to posess to be a moderator? How many moderators does this site have? Ive only seen two, are there more? Thanks, Josh EvansBlue 02-12-2008, 12:13 AM Wow, lots of questions! How do you contribute? Click the "Make a Donation" link at thetop right of the screen. Who pays for this one? Is it paid by advertisers? Advertisers pay money to the owners/directors and they in turn pay for the forums If you contribute, where exactly does your money go towards? Updating the forums, paying for domains, running the forums. Is this website ran by an individual or a group of individuals? Its run by Patrick and Amanda... whose last names are unknown. I think Amanda is Amanda Allen.... How are moderators picked? Moderators canvolunteerto become a moderator, or they can be asked if they want to do it. Mainly if the forum is growing and the moderators can't keep up with the growth. We shouldn't need another full-site moderator as of now. Section moderators may also be appointed to monitor certain sections, but they only have moderator powers in the said section. What qualifications do you have to posess to be a moderator? You have to be active on the forum, know the rules, and be in good standing with the rest of the staff. You have to have been around a while and get to know everyone. How many moderators does this site have? I have only seen 2 are there more? 5- biglg (doesn't do a whole lot as a moderator) 73shark engine2 (will not be around much for a while for personal reasons) nomad76lj (inactive) EuroGoldLS 87Moose 06-27-2008, 08:52 AM Cool! Thank you for taking the time to answer all of that! lol Padre 10-22-2009, 09:22 PM I would like to donate, but I do not see a "Make a Donation" on the upper right of any screen! Help! EvansBlue 10-22-2009, 11:50 PM I would like to donate, but I do not see a "Make a Donation" on the upper right of any screen! Help! This thread has not been updated since the site reformat... there is no donations anymore. We are fully sponsor supported. Gary, who are you talking to? Its a digup thread. dragonrpc 10-23-2009, 12:26 PM The Star system is gone as well with vBulletin upgrades I dont see them anymore. also, I think gary responded cause padre "bumped" the thread first. Perhaps it would be usefull to post the new version "ranking" for post counts These threads can often prompt user participation. i.e. 1-# - CF beginer #-# CF junior #-# CF member #-# CF senior, veteren, etc... EvansBlue 10-23-2009, 05:20 PM Yeah I'll get on that after a while. I'll be out tonight. |
