Honestly man Ive never heard of this problem, where did you hear of it? When I took mine out to install the line output converter, mine didnt lock up. My friend has a truck just like yours with a system in it, ill ask him tommorow if he had those issues during the installation.

well because i was reading my manual because i wanted to see about the radio lock and it said it has an anti theft on it that will lock the radio if stollen, so i just figured if i pulled it out the computer might think it was stollen and lock it,

Thats true. If you unplug the entire head unit. But if your installing a line output converter to hook up an amp for subwoofers or doorspeakers, there is no need to disconnect your radio. All your doing is tapping into your speaker leads. As long as the truck is off, there shouldnt be any power going out of the speaker wire positives, so there wouldnt be a need to unhook the radio.

well i just didnt know how far it would come out so i can tap in to them, so if its not long enough i figured i would have to unplug it, but if you say you dont have to i believe you. now can i just go to one of my audio shops and ask for a line output converter to my truck? and how much are they usually?
