HAS ANYBODY RUN INTO A REAL HEAVY GAS SMELL ON YOUR TAHOE I HAVE A 2000 CHEVY TAHOE Z71 WITH A REAL HEAVY GAS SMELL AND I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CAN NOT FIND ANY THING MANN IT'S KILLING ME IT ONLY HAS 71000 MILES ON IT AND ALL READY HAVE GONE THRU A TRANS NOW THIS WHATS UP WITH CHEVY </P>

is it stronger at certain times? like right after filling it? stronger with the hood open? stronger inside or out?</P>

ITS AS SOON AS U TURN THE TRUCK ON AND LET IT RUN IT SMELLS REAL BAD AND I HAD CHANGED EVERY 02 SENSOR ON THAT TRUCK AND STILL STRONG SMELL ANDHORRIBLE GAS MILEAGE ITS KILLING ME</P>

no...i mean do you smell it inside the truck? or under the hood? where is the smell stronger?

INSIDE AND RIGHT OUTSIDE THE DOORS ITS LIKE ITS COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE TRUCK AND ITS AS SOON AS YOU START THE TRUCK <edited><editID>crlsrod</editID><editDate>38434.5498263889</editDate></edited>

hmmmm..i would have someone inspect the fuel lines that run under the truck...there should be two, running relatively side by side...is the vehicle garage kept? or can you access in indoor garage to check something underneath the truck?

WELL I'LL SEE IF I CAN. DO YOU THINK THEY COULD BE LEAKING CAUSE I NEVER SEE ANY RESIDUE ON TH GROUND SO WE WILL SEE

my idea was for you to find a garage, and put something like a sheet of bright white paper under the length of the fuel line...or a white sheet...turn the key on, and the pump should kick in, wait a while..then off, then back on..
