I am looking into buying some angel eyes for my 95 Z71. I heard that you have to seperately wire the halo's to an alternate power source. Would I just wire them to the battery or are there kits without alternate wiring?

EvansBlue 07-01-2008, 06:05 PM Because the halos are just two ledsin anoptic (clear plastic) ring, you can just tap them into the parking lights. I have quad halos (fogs and heads) and they are all wired into the parking lights and I have no trouble with it. LEDs require 10x less amperage than filament bulbs. 87Moose 07-02-2008, 07:07 AM So I just need to splice the wires together with the parking lamp wires? I believethe parking lamps blink when making a turn. Are the halo'sgoing to blink every timeI turn? lol EvansBlue 07-03-2008, 04:35 PM No, they won't flash. You have a dual filament bulbfor the parking/signal lights. There are three wires leading to them. I beleive the wire you want to splice into is brown. Don't hold me to it, because it may be different on the 1995 model, but thats what color it is on the'96 Silv andthe'99 BurbI have in the yard. It would be best to get a test light or DMM to figure out which is Ground, Blinker, and Parking. You'll just need to splice the red wireinto the parking light wire and use a drilltip screw and ground the black wire to the radiator support. 87Moose 07-08-2008, 01:20 PM Do you know where i can find some nice ones? I'm looking for chrome. EvansBlue 07-08-2008, 01:37 PM Ebay will probably be your best bet. |
