Im wondering where the amp is located for my equinox. its with the 7 speaker sound package. i checked under the seats and its not there. im thinking its located with the sub in the right quarter panel.
im also wondering if there is a diagram for the wiring to the cd play, amp, and sub. so i can try figuring out how to add another amp and sub to this without taking out the stock cd player.

The bose amps are located under the console in most models.

I'm so used to saying Bose.... I forgot that it was a Pioneer system in the Equinox.
Its still probably under the console.

not sure what you mean by a regular amp.
I will say that all speaker leads from the radio come to the amp, and all leads to the speaker go out of the amp as well as to the sub
It is bolted to the sub enclosure and is replaceable without having to replace the sub

I have a 2009 Equinox with the 7 speaker Pioneer upgrade. I want to add an additional monoblock amp to the system. Should I run this amp direct from the deck, or link it into the existing amp? Any suggestions on the best/easiest way to do this?

I would splice RCA's into the rear speaker inputs to the amp and run them to your amp.

i found this link on ebay. i know it only goes up to 2007 models but i asked the guy if it will work on 2008s or if he had one that would. it also should help you out putting another amp in.

that would work great...nice and easy and looks like it has a gain control.
You can achieve the same thing with a $2 set of RCA leads from the dollar store if you can do a little splicing...just no gain control
