i'm pretty sure it would fit, u can make anything fit in just about anywhere- a guy in my neighbourhood stuffed (or should i shoehorned!) a 454 into his Chevette when i was a kid. but think about how bloody tight that'll b in there, i feel sorry for the maintenance personel (that'd b u brother). good luck with doing it, & post some pic's of your project if u do attempt it.[sm=badbadbad.gif]

mmmmm.....454... *drool*

70 is right about it being a tight fit, you might want to check for a g30 in the boneyard to see if you need a bigger doghouse. It would be a mother of a mover, but make sure the engine is tuned right, the tranny is solid (you may want to also consider changing that as well, depending on the mileage and design of the current tranny) as well as your rear-end gearing.

idax2, if the '82 g20 is a SB truck, u'll have 2 swap the trany, as the bell housings r different between a SB and a BB.

I would go and discuss with a trusted mechanic as to what's involved in the job. You're looking at quite a bit of $$ outlay, and you gotta look at the condition of the 454 before you even attempt it. Engine swaps, esp. in chevy vans, are not easy projects at all. You need to make sure the engine going in is in tip-top shape, to prevent more serious prolems down the road.
