View Full Version : aftermarket exhaust deanboy560 05-26-2007, 03:50 PM I have an 04 3.5 L 5 cylender vortec colorado and was wondering how it would sound with an aftermarket ehaust system. If anyone knows i would be happy to hear from you. LordGordon 05-29-2007, 04:31 PM I own a 2005 I5 Colorado Crew Cab. In March I put on a V- Force Muffler on my exhaust. The sound is very distinct. It has a very solid and nice purring enginey sound. At higher RPMS I find that I dont' really hear it that much.... which but at idle speeds 30 < mph you can hear its purr. I am also getting more pep and mpg too! LordGordon 05-29-2007, 04:32 PM oh I wish to add it only cost me 84$ total toadd that on my truck too deanboy560 05-29-2007, 11:01 PM so the exhaust that you put on only cost $84? MalibuMaxxSS 05-30-2007, 01:46 PM the one we did, did not sound very good deanboy560 05-30-2007, 07:16 PM what kind of exhaust did u put on it and why didnt it sound good LordGordon 06-01-2007, 02:00 PM I must note I only put on "the muffler" thats it no pipes or anything else thats why the cost was cheap. deanboy560 06-03-2007, 11:41 PM but did you like how it sounded? all i'm looking for is a nice deep sound, i dont really care for it to be really loud MalibuMaxxSS 06-04-2007, 10:53 AM it was deeper but sounded like a hmmmmmmm, best way to describe it??? take a rice burner honda with a muffler and tone that down (deeper) by about 5 times, VERY lound inside the cab, I was not impressed but I imagine there are different kinds, LordGordon 06-04-2007, 11:01 AM With the V Force I had put on there there is more growl with ignition and more purr sound at lower rpms and in town. Others can hear it but would not think "Woah" that sounds totaly bad arse!". Sorry to say I don't think there is going to be massive deep tones, there are some.. I put it on for more power, and better MPG! deanboy560 06-05-2007, 09:06 PM what kind did you put on yours max? RHOOD6 07-13-2007, 12:32 PM Deanboy, try flow master mild, I did and sounds great. deanboy560 07-13-2007, 11:55 PM what did it sound like RHOOD6 07-17-2007, 02:57 PM Sounds throaty at lower RPM's and at higher RPM's very smooth power sound and does not annoy the neighbors. EvansBlue 07-20-2007, 02:25 PM Go FM, delta 40,super 40 or 44.... Sounds great on everthing but Mopeds drw0392 09-19-2007, 01:03 PM If you really want a deep tone get a 2 chamber dual outlet flow master and then put 2 turn downs on the outlets (cut the tail pipe off and pointthe tips straight down) I've had people ask if I swapped in a V8,just let em' wonder! It is pretty loud in, and out of the cab though. deanboy560 01-31-2008, 05:12 PM do you have a link or anything that i could hear how is sounds? deanboy560 01-31-2008, 05:13 PM either of you |
