I have had trouble getting the local Chevy dealer to diagnose a draggin parking brake, worn out suspension (Bad shocks and springs), bad front end (Tie rod end, car wandered all over road), and vibration problem in my 2001 Blazer (Told it was the aggressiveness of the tire tread. Tires had 20-23000 miles on them).
So I did the only sensible thing for me anyway and that was to trade in my Blazer and get a used fleet 07 Impala LS.
Now I get home and pop the hood because I am smelling something funny and what do I see.........someone put windshield wiper fluid in the Dexcool coolant reservoir.[&:]
A flush and fill later I find that I had 6 quarts of oil in my 3.5L but that is the amount for the 5.3L not the 3.5L I should only have 4 quarts of oil.
To top this all off my mom brought her Pontiac Vibe in for its 15000 mile serviceand an oil change, in the Poconos, and someone forgot to put the oil fill cap back on. So she is driving all over thinking the cars in front of her were burning oil when it was oil splashing all over her engine. She is lucky that she noticed it was her vehicle before she ran it low on oil and did some damage.
Is this the new hired help that we are getting stuck with or is this the quality of genuine Certified GM Servicehelp these days??? I am stuck where I go because I can't wait for service appointments that are 3 weeks away or 2 weeks if its reallyimportant. That is the other Chevy dealer in the area which is 30 minutes away.
Is there a way to ask that only certified service people work on my car or are they all supposed to be certified??
I've got to think that Chevrolet and GM should start paying attention to these details more if they hope to keep people coming back. I've given them my final chance to prove to me they are worth my business. My old 78 Monte Carlo was a lot of fun when I was growing up but then again I wasn't paying the bills on that since it was my fathers old car. If you can't trust the people fixing your car then you won't likely buy that brand car again will you.
