so my battery died and I had to replace it. Now my radio is 'locked' and my keyless entry not working. the manual says I need to provide the code but nowhere in my paperwork does it list the code. I called around to places and they all want to charge me for a service visit to allow me to unlock this. Is there an easier, and free, way to do this so I don't have to pay after just buying a new battery. Seems kind of shady I can't unlock the radio I own [:@][:@][:@]

I believe that there is a "default" code listed in your owners manual. If not check with the local dealer or the dealer you bought it from. They should be able to provide you with that info over the phone.

I own a 99 cavalier and i think the code is 000 unless somone has changed it. Check the owners manual and it will have instructions on how to imput this code.

I've had this problem in the past also. The dealer should be able to reset this for you at no cost. Just stop in at any GM dealership. Ask them to give you the code so you can reset it on your own next time. The instructions are very easy to follow in your owners manual.
