3 bad fuel pumps
1995 Astro van for the past 3 years i have to replace my fuel pump 4 times,
in the past 10 years i own this van before the last 3 years i never have any problem with fuel pumps before,
there is a new fuel filter and the spider was replace 3 years ago when the van reach 140k miles i have 160k now 3 fuel pumps in the past 20k miles
I just got home in a tow truck and i can hear there is no pump noise i got under the van with a test light and there is 12 volts, so no relay or fuse problem
thank you

I had a 95 Safari that ate fuel pumps too. I've always replaced them with the AC brand, but they failed anyway. I've also replaced the spider assy 3 times. It got very annoying when they would go out.
That old baby got me 318,000 miles, before antifreeze started disappearing, so I retired it.
Since then, I've owned a 96 Astro with 245,000 miles, and now a 2000 with 290,000 miles, and you know what? Its the best one of the three.
I got 24 mpg the last long trip I took. The motor with the throttle body injection, has more pep and get up and go, than the other 2, with the CMFI.
I have not had to replace a fuel pump, or a spider assy (on the 96) .
I believe now, instead of replacing the entire spider assembly, you can get individual poppet valves for the plugged up ones in your spider assy.
I always thought why change the whole thing, when only one would plug up.
