Default 2002 Trailblazer Stereo Help

I have a 2002 Trailblazer that is having intermittant problems with the factory radio/CD player. Some days it will work fine with no problems. Some days it will only work with the tweeters in the front speakers. Some days it will only work with one speaker. This is very frustrating! I would just buy an aftermarket radio but want to make sure that would fix it. If there might be an existing seperate amp that is malfunctioning then the aftermarket might not fix it. Any ideas on what's going on? If you need any more info let me know.

Thanks.
Scott

You may have a short in the harness or it is possible the plug has become loosened from the back or has corrosion on it.

No way to tell for sure unless you take it out.

Volt meter is your best friend when diagnosing electrical issues with car stereo wiring.

I ended up taking it out to replace it with an aftermarket unit. The original was not a bose system. There were no signs of corrosion or loose connections that I could find. I installed the aftermarket one and it works great! Must have just been the original head unit itself was going bad. Thanks for the help.
