Angry 2007 Avalanche LTZ 6.0 AFM lifter 'FAIL'

2007 ave w/ 157000km . Dealer serviced . Developed a tick a month ago. Took to dealer and was informed that a 'magic AFM lifter ' may be gone. They did their estimate - $5200.00 !! I asked them to take apart and we would have a visual. So one lifter is gone on the passenger side. They suggest doing all AFM lifters and the cam . I could not afford this so authorized replacement of 4 AFM lifters on bad side. $2750.00 ! I asked if there was a recall on these lifters and how come they are having so many failures . No answer - blank stares !!

Three weeks later now there is a bad tick on the other side and i am dreading the outcome of this , another $2750.00 i guess .......what a load of crap!
Apparently if your vehicle was under warranty they would fix these defective AFM lifters. I see all over the internet complaints about these AFM lifters GM has put out a bad product and are not stepping up to help repair . The dealership (Don Folk ) is having a clearance event this weekend . I will be there with a sign on my 2007 Avalanche " for sale just needs new lifters"
