mafs sensor help
hi my name is reed i have a 2002 camaro 3.8 v6 i'm having issues with the mafs sensor i replaced it with a after market one it worked for about 30 minutes then died again got a brand new one now wont start at all acts like it wants to but just doesn't and the unit gets hot to the touch can anyone help this is driving me insane

it had no power like it wasn't getting fuel it happened before stall and start right back up took it to the shop they replaced the sensor and ran perfect..now its doing it all over again

Check the wiring to the sensor for any bad connections, frayed wires or shorted wires.
Also remember you shouldn't touch the electrode of the MAF sensor. Only spray MAF cleaner on it.

The only thing that should get hot is the filament inside the sensor which you shouldn't be touching and would burn the hell out of you, kind of having a hard time deciphering your posts but im assuming you have a wiring issue

That means the exterior case shouldn't be getting as hot as it sounds. The filiments measure airflow, to measure flow you need temperature, this is a cheap way to do it, heat the air at a known temp.
