Default crank position sensor

Does any body know where on the 1995 chevy caprice 5.7 the crank position sensor is and where i can get one because the dealership isn't showing a listing for one?

It does not have one per say. The crank sensor is part of the distributor, should be replaced as a complete assembly.

thanks MDTahoe, Do you know if a performance chip in a computer could throw off the spark at the ignition coil?

Sure could depending on what the chip is designed to do. Are you still dealing with the same stalling issue?

No, the distributor was changed and that took care of that problem. But last weekend i changed the oil pressure sensor because the oil pressure gauge on the dash would drop significantly when i stopped at a red light or stop sign but then raise back to normal once I accelerated again. After installing that i started the car and it started up automatically. Had it running for about 2 hours and it was running fine. The next morning i tried to start it up and it will crank but just wont turn over. It has a new ignition coil. Their is power at the coil but just no spark. A guy who knew the person i bought the car from told me that the previous owner had a stage 3 chip installed in the computer and maybe the chip was throwing off the harness so that's why i asked about the chip because i'm not entirely sure what this car has installed in it.

any updates on this issue? were you able to find out if the installed chip was responsible? and what did you do with your crank position sensor?
