My understanding is our 91 Caprice 5.0l has the OBD I connector . I can short / jumper terminals A & B and the computer will flash out the error codes .
I have an OBD II that will read codes .and my understanding is the more expensive OBD II readers will show a lot more information .
Anything similar for OBD I ?
I saw an adapter cable on eBay , would it help me ? Do any more than jumping A & B ?
Thanks , :-)

OBD Diagnostics, Inc. - OBD2 All-In-One Scan Tool w/ USB
This cable is fantastic.
I made one myself, it is pretty easy, "just" need the right components.
I myself use TunerPro for reading out the old OBD I, you can also use Winaldl.
It's pretty straightforward, you can readout the error codes and all the info that the ECM uses, that would be coolant temp, MAP sensor, MAT sensor, TPS, Bat. voltage and so on and so forth....
It's really helpful :-)
