Red face Acceptable MP3 players?

I just bought a 2012 Chevy Captiva (which I absolutely love). The only thing I can't figure out is why my HTC smart phone doesn't connect when I plug it into the USB cord. I just get a message that says "device not supported". Is there a step I'm missing or is there a different music player that is supported by the system? Would love to be able to listen to my own music, etc. so anything helps!

I guess it only supports Apple devices, such as iPhone, iPod, through the USB. Other devices may connect through the AUX.

they support the FAT32 filesystem, favored by Apple and what you have to format your USB keys to to have them read music. Android has a different filesystem, so i just use my USB for music and charge my android with the "cigarette" power next to it.
