I am retired and my wife said I am getting a little too bored. So, for father’s day she bought me a 1988 Cavalier Z24 convertible to keep me busy. It’s pretty cool..... When the car is cold it starts fine and keeps on running OK. But, when I turn it off and try to start it again, it does not start. The car turns over but just sputters and smells of smoke.

Any suggestion to fix this problem would be welcomed.
