Default 2000 Cavalier Electrical/Instrument Panel Problems

My daughter has a 2000 Cavalier, for months now her instrument panel has acted strange, with indicator lights coming on and going off, when she drives at night her headlights dim and the turn signal indicators slowly turn to low green. Recently, her radio has been going in and out (no power), and she has had problems keeping the car running, it will turn over but shut off after she tries to start it. Any suggestions? Thanks...

battery or alternator, or both, goin out. have both tested. also, check all power connections at battery and at starter and power block, and check all ground connections.

Daughter's boyfriend's father, former mechanic, fixed problem, apparently from what I learned, there was no ground wire where there should have been one...Perhaps done by former shop that did some brake work on her car, I dunno, all I know is it is fixed.
