2005 Chevy Cavalier cd player
I have a 2005 chevy cavalier and am looking to replace the stock cd player. I was told that I need an ABS Module in order for everything to work right. Just wondering if anyone knew anything about this and whether it was true.

The ABS module has nothing to do with the radio, But you will need an intergration module to reatin your chimes, r.a.p., and OnStar (if Equipped). If you don't care about your chimes, or the rap system, you can do without the module, and wires the radio directly to the ignition switch.
here's 1 brand of module that will work in your car.

Nah, my car doesn't have onstar and by the chimes, are you referring to the noise when you have have the door open and that ding is made. If so, I don't really care about that.

well then you really do not need the module. Pick out a nice cd player you want, buy a dash kit, & antenna adapter. When you do the install, don't worry about the wiring harness they try to sell you, just wire the cd player directly to the factory harness. Don't cut the connector off though in case you want to put the factory radio back in when you sell it. When you are hooking up the accy wire, you will need to go to the ignition switch because you won't find one at the radio harness. Drop us a line when you are ready to do the install and we can give you wire colors
