Blown Head Gasket?

Blown Head Gasket?
My 03 cavalier is losing oil at an impressive rate. However, I see no evidence of this either in my own garage or where I park for work. There has also been a yellowish substance on the bottom of the oil cap. I'm suspecting the head gasket is bad and is letting fluids mix.
I went ahead and ordered the gasket and just began taking apart my car. I'm awful at this, I admit, but should be able to do it more or less on my own. However, I've just arrived at the point where I have the top cover off and the camshafts are exposed. I know this top half of the motor needs to come off but don't know where to start. I've tried looking up guides online but there's nothing for 03's that I can find and everything else seems to skip the important bits that I need.
Can anyone help me out with instructions or a how to? Does the Hayne's manual explicitly describe this procedure as well?
Thanks for any help!
