Default Tools to replace crankshaft seal

I'm planning to replace the engine front cover/crankshaft seal.

  • Do I need special tools to replace the seal?
  • Are there special issues where I must pay special consideration with?

My car is a Cavalier Sedan 2001 2.2L engine.

Thanks

A common set of tools should do, just make sure you have the tools for pulley. I just replaced the timing belt on a Honda Passport and I had to improvise and weld together a tool to keep it in place.
Another thought. You sure the seal is bad? It tends to start leaking if you have some pressure in engine, bad piston rings, clogged vent?
