Default traction lite and limp home mode

A few weeks ago I thought I had figured out the traction control limp home mode problem but it has returned. Here is what happens the outside temperatures are below - 15 I start the truck (2010 colorado ext cab 2.9 auto) and everything is fine about 10 minutes later it sometimes goes into limp home mode , rough running, top speed 30kph traction lite on. Now I know if I shut it off making sure the headlights shut down to, then restart it everything is ok. It seems there must be a temperature sensor that is sending a bad signal to the ECU that creates a limp home signal . Has anyone else experienced this problem , it seems to be intermittant but I am pretty sure it has something to do with the cold weather run system then switching over to the nominal run temp.
