04 colorado tranny prob?
Ok ladies and gents, I own a 2004 chevy colorado ls, 2wd extended cab automatic. It has 112k miles on it.
The problem is from a cold start when i put it in drive and take off it seems that the tranny is slow to accelerate(it isnt the engine rpms are fine) once the tranny has "warmed" up and shifted through the 4 gears it is fine. I must admit i recently purchased this vehicle and havent had time to research its ins and outs.
I am wondering if I should have the tranny fluid and filter changed? could this be a fluid breakdown problem?(fluid level is good) is there a required maintenance for the tranny at this mileage? or has anyone else experienced this problem? please respond and i will check back later.
Thanx

thanks
Thank you, I thought maybe that was it, i checked the maint schedule in the own manual and should have been done at 100k and not sure if it was, so that is my first step.

If you're going to change the fluid, you might as well replace the tranny filter as well. Who knows if the previous owner ever changed it. As for the maintenance schedule, the manual indicates every 50k (severe driving conditions). I change my fluid every 30k and change my filter every other time.
