hi guys iv got a 86 chevy 350 5.7 v8 iv done a rebuild as the shells went and scrached the crank so took to bit ordered new parts crank, seals, shells, gaskets ect also wile she was apart i ordered uprated con rods, uprated pistons, only realy replaced the bottom half.

iv put the engine back together now she wont start why!!
iv tried the firing orders every way u can think of and she still wont start its getting petrol so dont think its that. i did notice that when doing the timing chain i think there was to much slack but i dont know how much there is surpost to be? could this be my problem.

there shouldnt be any slack on a brand new timing chain
as for starting are you sure the timing is set up right?
do u have spark?
do u have fuel?

Dist. 180 out?
Plugs fire?
