Default Which Piston to Use?

Hello,

I have a '96 Winnebago using a Chevy P30 chassis with a 454. Due to what I believe to have been caused by an overheating condition, I lost all compression in the #7 cylinder. Just to be sure, I tested all the other cylinders and they are reading fine.

I tore down the engine and discovered that the piston side groove failed which in turn destroyed all the rings. In any case, I'm about ready to order a new Sealed Power piston from RA but am a bit overwhelmed since there are 4 choices of P/Ns that seem to have the same specs. The P/Ns are SEALED POWER Part # WH815DCP, Part # WH815ACP, Part # H815DCP, and Part # H815ACP. Some of them even use the same ring set while some others specify a different P/N for the ring set.

The specs for all of them in terms of the ring groove dimensions, piston diameter, valve reliefs, etc. are shown as the same. Does anyone know what the differences are between the P/Ns listed and which one I should get? BTW, the prices are all within a dollar or two for all of them, so again, not much difference. Thanks, TC
