Default 2005 Equinox automatic door locks

Just bought a 05 Equinox and was wondering if I can set the automatic door locks to lock at a certain speed rather than as soon as you put it in drive.
Thanks

Congrats on your purchase. If it can be done, it should be in the owner's manual. If yours didn't come with one, download a soft copy from Chevrolet Owner Manuals - Factory Warranty, features and options, and maintenance explained.

Congratulations on your new vehicle! It is possible to program the automatic locks. The process is as follows:

Programmable Automatic Door Locks

With this feature, all the doors will lock as the transaxle is shifted out of PARK (P) if the ignition key is in the run position and all doors are closed. The doors will automatically lock if the vehicle is going faster than 3 mph (5 km/h).

In the following two situations, when a door is opened, all doors will lock again:

• The brake pedal is applied, a door is opened and then closed, and the brake pedal is released.
• A door is opened and closed without the brake pedal applied while the vehicle is moving faster than 3 mph (5 km/h).

The programmable unlocking feature can be programmed on or off by turning the ignition key to RUN and pressing the unlock power door lock switch for eight seconds. The horn will chirp once when this feature is on and will chirp twice when it is off.

When programmed, all doors will unlock when the transaxle is shifted into PARK (P).

For your reference, these instructions are located in your Owner's Manual on page 2-7. A digital copy of the manual is located at: http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/ow...et-Equinox.pdf

Best of luck! I hope this was helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.
