Default Daytime running lights

I have a 2005 Equinox LT. Today, I started the engine, put it in drive, and my Daytime running light indicator blinked several times and went out. All lights come on when switch is turned to normal operation. At night the lights come on normally when on auto but no lights during the day. I swapped the relay in the engine fuse compartment but no luck. Any suggestions??????? Thanks

Either a problem with the BCM or the light sensor. Do you have automatic windshield wipers too? If they are operating it rules out the BCM.

Not sure what a BCM is, but no automatic wipers and if light sensor, what is there a way to test it?

The resistor was the culprit. Unscewed from fender frame and fell apart into several pieces. Easy fix once you know what to look for. Thanks again.

I have a similar problem but low beam lights do not work at all. Replace DRL resistor still no go. Could it be both bulbs?

Yeah it could be. You can look at them and tell if the filament is broken.
It may also be a fuse.

Apparently when the resister went out it also blew both headlamp bulbs. Replaced them and all is working. Thanks for the reply.

Hello, i own a 2006 Saturn Vue. I hate the daytime running lights. So i pulled the DRL relay in the fuse box under the hood. I then pulled the DRL resistor in the left front bumper, shown the post by brian1. My Saturn vue STILL has daytime running lights! What else is there to do? Or did i miss something. Any help would be .... well ..... helpful. Thanks.
