Default 2011 Equinox oil sensor

I have a couple of questions about oil pressure on a 4 cy engin. that being at what point (pressure) does the indicator come on? Does this sensor detect oil level? If the sensor is for pressure only then is there a minimum amount of oil in the crankcase at which the sensor will come?

How much oil should a 4 cylinder consume between oil changes? I also understand that the engine oil is also used in the valve train.

Any insight welcome.

Would you please provide the last 8-digits of your VIN, so I can look into this further for you?
