Default $0 1988 G20 - how can I resist?

Hey all - an opportunity to have a G20 for free has arisen! It's my friend's family's van, and I've been fond of the couch-on-wheels for many V8 years.

I poked around for a couple hours hoping to find a timeline of the G series evolution. The wiki article was among the most informative. '88 means it's fuel injected, and I believe it has the 5.7L. I was wondering about curb weight, tank capacity, and if any of the (same generation) G series came in manual / if a manual trans could be swapped in.

I know that's absurd, but having rebuilt the engine in my Saturn wagon, and having toyed around with bits and pieces on the '86 F150, I feel not greasy enough cruising around in an automatic. (or with power steering. No spinach for this popeye)
