1986 Chevy G20 Van
An elderly lady friend owns this van and asked me if I could help her.
Her son-in-law worked on van changing coil, filter and vacuum lines. Now there is no spark and will not start.
Here is the VIN number. 2GCEG25H2G4114722
What engine is in the van? How do you read the vin number?
What should I look for in trouble shooting this problem?

the motor is a 305 sb make sure all the wiring is attached have the ignition control module tested its mounted under the distributor cap
you can always tell what motor it has by simply looking for white stickers underhood and it says what it is on the side of the block

Thanks for the information. I did not have to work on the van. The son-in-law came back over and started messing with the engine. He finally realized that when he put in some new carpet, he took out a box that he thought was the brake controller. Needless to say, it was the computer. When he reinstalled the computer, a miracle happened!!!! The engine started. Go figure!!!!
