Default Transmission Cooler Question

Can anyone tell me which hose carries hot fluid from the automatic transmission to the radiator cooler and which hose carried the cooled fluid back to the transmission? Is the top hose coming from or going to the transmission? Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

Not sure, but my guess would be top hose is flowing towards the cooler, and bottom hose is return, just like the engine coolant.

Drive van for a while. Then touch the hoses. The hotter hose is going to the cooler.

There seem to be two transmission options for that year. In general the line going into the top of the radiator is the hot fluid coming from the transmission and the line from the bottom of the radiator is the return line. Perhaps you can puzzle it out from this GM Parts East website.

I would go with the physics answer of heat rises and colder sinks, therefore return line should be the lower one...
