I am new here looking for some help

I have a 1996 chevy express van 1500, geneva conversion

The rear heater is blowing cold air

There is no temp setting so i am assuming that the front control should control the rear temp

the lines are hot before and after the bypass valve under the front passenger side, also in the rear coming in and going out

The return line is not as hot as the in line but i assume going through the heater core would cool it down a little

I have researched this online and cannot find any thing like this

Please help my kids warm up

Is this a new problem, If could be even though the hoses feel hot, the rear heater core is starting to plug up and there is not enough coolant flowing. The rear heater/air in my conversion sucks in air from the cabin although it does heat up eventually and it still does not get really hot. Also as you say the heat and a/c control is piggybacked off the front and the conversion re-design in mine basically stinks in providing the same temp as the front. You don't happen to have the heat control in bi-level, that would be running the a/c for the defrosters and it could be cooling the rear air temp down.

It does not seem to matter what setting the front is on, it is always cold, it is almost like the air is on in the rear somehow

i guess i will have to try and flush the heater core

Would it be possible for the rear a/c to be one if the front is on heat?

Unless your conversion has two a/c compressors the answer is no. The front and rear evaporator coils are both fed by a single compressor. The compressor does run in bi-level and defrost, but should not run in the heat mode.
