Head Gasket Blown - Chevy G30 - How to change?
Hi all,
I've got a Chevy G30 that was an ambulance that I've now turned into a flat bed truck, but the head gasket has blown in it - I was wondering if anyone has a guide on how I fix it myself or is it not worth the hassle/too complicated and better to pay for it to be done?
Thanks in advance
Ash

Pick up a Haynes repair manual. It has lots of info on that.
You won't just do the heads either. While the heads are off, you may as well do them. Re seat the valves, or maybe just take them to a machine shop, and have the valve guides done, and the heads planed.....because if they are warped a bit new gaskets won't be enough.

Myself personally, I would pay to have it done. Its a rather involved job. And while its being done.. other wear items can be replaced. I believe it cost me $1200 US.. parts and labor. This is on a 5.7L?
Wouldn't mind seeing a picture of your truck.
