Default Leaking gearbox 1997 express 1500

I have a leaking gearbox (leaks from somewhere on top) and I am trying to figure out how to remove the rubber cover that encloses the intermediate shaft (lower shaft). I don't want to rip it trying to figure how to get it loose so I can get at the bolt holding the shaft to the gearbox. Does anyone know how to get the rubber boot off the gear box?

thanks

Bill

Here is what I had to do:

The rubber cover over the intermediate shaft has to be pried up off the top of the gearbox, there are at least 2 rubber tabs that have to make their way over the lip of the gearbox. I did a little damage to one of the tabs but I believe a zip tie will hold everything back in place when I'm done.

Thanks

Bill
