Need Help with Auxillary Power Outlet!!!
Hey guys,
The passenger side power outlet stopped working....driver side is fine. 2005 Express 2500. I checked the fuses (according to the owners manual)...and all appear to be good....although I worry from reading other posts that these may be on different circuits, which would make sense since one is and one is not working. I don't own the factory manuals for this car. Any comments or suggestions? Does anyone have the factory wiring diagram to tell me the correct fuse for each?
Thanks, Ross

RE: Need Help with Auxillary Power Outlet!!!
Hi Ros. I have the 06 and the left side did blow a fuse, #30. I removed this fuse and that fixed the right side.
Then the right side quit working again a few days later and I checked the fuse #29, and just removing the fuse and putting it back in fixed the right side power outlet.
this doesn't make any sense at all but that's what happened.
Any suggestions from anyone?

My plug for my serious radio was bad. The driver side cig lighter blew another 15 amp fuse so I bumped that up to a 20 amp. ( I never used that one because I quit smoking 4 years ago) The passenger side fuse was already a 20 amp.
by the way it was a pain opening that fuse box under the hood. you can use a piece of wire to pull open the latches.
edit: the cig lighter and passenger side power have separate fuses on the 06 #29 for passenger and #30 for cig.
I don't know why my cig fuse blew out, but hope the 20 amp is ok to use.

Your outlet is bad. It is sometimes tough to get it out but once you do you will notice that it is about to fall apart. Pick up a new bezel when you buy the outlet, you will probably need it. About 12 bucks for outlet & bezel.

RE: Need Help with Auxillary Power Outlet!!!
Upgrading the fuse seemed to have solved the problem for me.
However, a plug for a Sirus radio came apart and fried the sat radio. So, that plug has fried two sat radios.
I think it was the plug for the radio but maybe it was the aux plug?
Anyway, I sold my van on eBay and bought a small hatch back.
I always planned on keeping the passenger van and buying a smaller car, but with cost of fuel there's no reason to keep a van in the drive way unless you use it or work out of it.
It did hold it's value though. So, I can aways buy another one if I need it. I was real choosy about who bought it. LoL. It's new owners is a company that installs lighting. I'm sure it will be a very reliable van.
I hope my little hatch back holds up as well as my Chevy vans did.

2018 passenger cigarette lights not working
Driver side works. Not the passenger. There is only one fuse. Its a 20 amp. I was thinking of wiring it to the other lighter unless it already is.
