Default rear brake help

Hi, new to the forum, got a 2001 express van 3500, when redoing rear brakes does the shorter brake shoe always go on the front (towards front of vehicle)? On both sides? thanks

yes, the primary shoe is smaller and goes to the front and secondary shoe is larger and goes on the rear. You must have a servo style brake design....the front shoe wedges the rear shoes into the drum so the rear does most of the work
goggle a picture and it should confirm this.
