Default G20 questions

hi guys,
im just trying to find stuff out about g20s so i have a bit more knowledge on them, as i have plans for the one my girlfriend owns

what year did they go from carbs to fuel injection?
the one we got is declared built in 1992, but was imported to the UK in 1998, and looks like its a refugee from the 70s inside, totally cool.
it has an injection throttle body that looks like a carb, with 2 injectors inside. it did have a catalytic converter the size of a house on it,but i removed that.

it goes ok, but as ever, i want a bit more from it, (not me, obviously this is what my good woman wants lol)

im thinking headers and a different intake system, maybe even going backwards to a carb set up?

when they changed to injection and emmision **** did the performance suffer?

obviously with the fuel prices over here expected to see £1.50 a litre over the summer i want a bit more than 1mpg, 10 would be ok lol...

seriously though, any thoughts or comments appreciated.

cheers.
Ed.

cant do headers because of the clearance most vans had throttle body injection in 86' however the 305 still came carbed as an option if you want performance you will need to have deep pockets you could do exhaust, cam , intake , carb

I have 2 G30 454's a 92 & 93 both are throttle body. the 92 didnt have a cat convert and got 8mpg, so I put a 3" exhaust and put a new cat on it and got 11mpg in town and 14 on the freeway. open up the tail so it can breath, the sets back pressure, keep a good 02 sencer on the exhaust pipe so the computer knows whats up, economy set the dis at adv 4 deg if its power you want move it to 11 deg, it has a cap & rotor they go quick if the blocks lopes, if the air filter is dirty the block gets no air no power no mpg.
