Default 1952 chevy stepside pickup.

hi there I have just got myself a chevy 1952 pickup that I have been after for a long time after looking at it more closely I don't know what engine is in her because the strait 6 has got 5 bolts down the side of the valve cover I was hoping someone out there would be able to help me as I'm new to the chevy world many thanks Barry.

Can you post some pictures of the engine from both sides and the front?

Thanks so much for replying I pick up the chevy on Saturday so when I get her home I will take some photos and put them on here for you to have look at. I do have one photo that's not very good I may try and put that on now. Many thanks. Barry.

Look for some numbers on it. Hard to tell, but probably a 235.

It's hard to tell from this picture but the 216.5 and the 235 have the distributor at the center of the engine and do not have a PCV valve. The engine in your picture has the distributor near the front and does have a PCV valve. It could be a 194, 250 or 261 but they have 3 mounting bolts on each side of the valve cover. Your picture has 5 bolts. this is puzzling. Maybe when you post better pictures it will be easier to tell.
