Default 2 brake light questions.

First, how do I get to the 3rd eye brake light to clean rusted socket? Lastly, do I need to disconnect battery post to clean the socket with steel wool?

Thanks,
Rustybolt.

"how do I get to the 3rd eye brake light to clean rusted socket?"

That doesn't make much sense but if your wondering how to get that 3rd light socket clean, then yes you WILL need to disconnect the battery so that you dont get a shock. I don't see how Steel wool would hurt it as long as its covers up by a light anyway.

Thanks for the reply. I have only took the housing off once and when i did it went into several parts and had a rough time putting it back together, just wanted to know if there was and easier way to take the housing off without it going into several pieces.
The socket is rusty inside(still trying to figure out how it got rusty)thought a parts store would have a replacement but that part(socket)has to be got at a junk yard. I've called two junk yards here where i live and they don't have any so I will have to scrape it clean with a steel wool.
Thanks again for your reply, sorry the question sounded so silly.
