Default 79 chevy truck 454 problems

Hey all, I got a 79 chevy truck with a 454 in it and I am having problems with it. It flat out has no power, when you try to rev it while in park it revs slow and feels like there is no power. Last time I drove it, it seemed like I had to have it full throttle to go anywhere.

Here is what I have checked..

Spark on all wires,

New plugs (ACCEL Header plugs)

New Wires (ACCEL High Heat wires)

New Cap

Timing is pretty close to where it needs to be (if I advance/retard it it makes no difference)

If you turn the idle mixture screws nothing changes (Edelbrock Performer carb)

Sometimes when you full throttle it, you can see gas spitting up from the barrels.

I have pulled the screws out and blew threw the circuit (no change)

I have also pulled the carb off, took apart and it didn't look dirty. I didn't "rebuild" it, I just took it apart and cleaned it.

What should I do next?

How can I check that the vaccumm advance is working?

Should I have the resistor caps on the plugs?

Thanks for any help..

Have you check the cats or the muffler to see if they are stopped up?

It has no Cat, dual pipes that dump out right behind the cab, they each have a muffler on either side..

Also a update I rebuilt the Edelbrock Carb and still no improvement.

One thing I completely forgot to do was replace the fuel filters. I am also adding a fuel pressure gauge to the Carb so make sure I am getting the right pressure.
