Brake bleeding
Hi All, I have a 97 blazer that blew the back break line from the master to what I guess id the bos for the ABS. I replaced this line and am trying to bleed the brakes by pumping the brakes holding them and cracking the bleeder like i've always done however no matter how much I pump virtually no fluid is coming out. I see no other leeks. Can anyone tell me what is going on?
Thanks, Chris

RE: Brake bleeding
depending on how much air is in the system, and if air has got into the master, then it could take a while. Sounds like you've got the pattern down. you have 2 people bleeding the system right? 1 person pumps, then hold while the 2nd cracks the bleeder. Muke sure the pumps go all the way downthen all way to the top. If the pumps are too short, you may be just moving the air back and forth in the line.

RE: Brake bleeding
if the vehicle has four wheel abs brakes then you need two special tools that go on the abs hydraulic module. or you will never get fluid. let me know and i will tell you where you can get the tools and how to do it.
if you dont know how to tell if it has four wheel abs let me know.

RE: Brake bleeding
Been doing brakes for 15 years, I live in massachusetts lots of rotted lines, bleeding etc...Sounds like air in the master, U should be able to get flo with an assitant, pumping, if not look to gettin your master bled or get a new one dont forget to bench bleed the master, Ive never used a mightyvac or power bleeder, always use an assitant or gravity, work everytime, THe pressure side blleeders work good the ones that clip on to the brake resivoir, but not neccesary stay with it if nothing change that master,

Sounds like what Beerthrity said..... I am looking for more information on the same......Have read on ABS you have to use a "Scan tool" to get the abs module to open the checkvalves to bleed on some models...........Some modulars (abs) have screws to get it done...
I am looking for 01 Z71 bleeding after renewing all brake lines....?
